Predicting Treatment Outcomes in Adolescent Alcohol Use Disorders

Description:
Researchers in the Alcohol Research Center are offering a 10-week outpatient counseling program to teenagers in need of help for their alcohol use with or without other substance use. Alcohol and drug tests will be performed. There will be no charge for participating in the research. The research project will also examine possible predictors of treatment outcome, including genes extracted from a saliva sample and a harmless recording of EEG/brain waves. The teenager may qualify to participate in this treatment-based research study if he or she is between the ages of 13 and 18 yrs. Free transportation will be provided, if needed, to those who qualify and teens and parent/caregivers will be compensated for their participation in the study. For more information, call Rebecca at (860) 679-8478. IRB # 08-042-1.
